The spaces, from a photographer's side
- The great hall. Vast, ornate, tall enough for any mandap and any stage. It photographs like a film set, especially after dark when the chandeliers and the uplighting do the work.
- The staircases. Sweeping, symmetrical, and made for an entrance — the bride's descent, the couple's reception entrance, the family on the steps. We plan two minutes on them, twice.
- The grounds and the entrance. Room for a baraat to arrive with a dhol and a horse, and a façade behind it that says "castle" in every wide frame.
- The getting-ready suites. Generous, and lit well enough for the morning portraits.
The light through the day
This is a venue whose interiors shine at night, and we plan around that. Daytime ceremonies in the hall are lit by us — soft light set around the mandap before the family arrives, so the ceremony reads as warm daylight rather than flash. Couple portraits happen outside in the afternoon, on the grounds and at the façade, where the light is kind and the building gives the frames their scale.
